Details
Often, the first thought regarding sustainability for equipment in labs is related to its use (energy consumption) or disposal. However, for some equipment, such as sports gear, the manufacture stage infact generally holds the highest emissions and environmental impacts. By thinking sustainably about your approach to acquiring equipment, you can greatly reduce these impacts associated to your lab's activities.
Much equipment in sports science can be sourced from existing locations. Ensure that there is a system in place to consider sourcing used or surplus equipment from other labs or organisations via purchase, sharing or donation schemes.
