The Impact:
Reduces energy consumption

Details
The energy savings from switching off equipment, compared to leaving it on, will be affected by the length of time for which the equipment can be switched off. Suppliers may have more detailed information about the energy required for equipment to reach the required temperature after being switched off, compared to leaving it on. The length of time it takes for equipment to reach the required temperatures once switched on will also need to be considered. If switching it off completely is not possible, it may be possible to reduce the temperature during predictable periods of inactivity.
