Mercury lamps can use up to 10 x more energy than their LED counterparts. Additionally you can generally get 1000 x the amount of usage hours out of an LED compared to the mercury-based lamp. By phasing out mercury-based light sources and replacing them with LED systems reduces energy consumption and hazardous waste in imaging facilities.
Where mercury lamps are still in use, put in place a planned transition that accounts for existing equipment lifecycles and supports sustainable operations, without compromising imaging performance while improving safety.
