The Impact: <p>As well as the ethical benefits of reducing animal usage, using environmental testing instead of sentinel screening reduces resource intensive husbandry requirements, impacts on delivery of animals and the costs for breeding the animals. It also decreases waste generation and energy consumption.</p>

Details

Environmental testing usually results in a large reduction in animals used in testing and thus aligns to 3R policy in reducing mice numbers, as well as reducing environmental impact.
