Air changes for the building HVAC (Heating Ventilation Air Conditioning) units should be managed and set to the minimum allowable ACH, whilst meeting the legal and welfare needs of the animals and staff. Where possible optimise heating and cooling to ensure efficiency. Night and out of hours setback should be employed in the rooms where it is appropriate and possible to do so, such as procedure rooms or ancillary labs. Air changes for IVC cages are managed and set to the minimal appropriate ACH.
