Details
The disposal of trial-related equipment that may be reused or shared between CTUs or other health research sites creates unnecessary waste. This should focus on easily shareable materials such as equipment, furniture, or unused consumables. IMPs may be considered as well, but must be within legal allowances. It should be notes that not all interventions are IMPs (e.g. wearables), and it has been shown that non-IMP interventions can have an outsized impact on the carbon footprint of a trial. As such, the resuse of non-IMP interventions represents an important possibility to be explored.
