A targeted MS/MS method can be more sustainable because the target analyte is known, meaning the method can be specific leading to shorter acquisition times. However, there is also benefit for untargeted analysis via MS only as more data can be collected, therefore prevent re-analysis as data could be shared across multiple projects.
