The Impact:
Without clear expectations for equipment use, basic maintenance, and ventilation, equipment such as heat presses, exposure units, washout booths, and drying equipment may be misused, left running unnecessarily, or used in unsafe conditions. This can increase energy use, reduce process reliability, and expose users to harmful substances. Establishing baseline practices supports safe, efficient, and responsible workshop operation.

Details

Equipment (e.g. heat presses, exposure units, washout booths, drying racks or cabinets) is used appropriately, safely, and only when required. Basic maintenance and care procedures are in place to support reliable operation and reduce unnecessary energy use.
Ventilation and extraction systems are used correctly where required to ensure safe handling of dyes, inks, solvents, and other chemicals.
