Details
While there may be a substantial amount of information for new starters, it is crucial that efficient and sustainable computing practices are emphasised on arrival, when new staff behaviour can be most influenced.
How?
Sustainability induction procedures can be developed by the institution's central sustainability team, or used just for your team and inspired from examples in other institutions. Sustainable computing advice should not be separate but rather fully integrated into induction materials.
This criteria refers to training about digital and computing sustainability, not generic campus sustainability efforts. Some resources include the Sustainable computing in science course, the Green Software Practitioner Course, and the Green HPC system use.
📣 Ask your Central Team! If your central team has applied or is applying to Green DiSC as well, you should be able to ask them about the evidence they provided for this criterion and what relevant information is available for you to include in your application.
