The Impact:
Taking stock of large data resources being used is needed to understand and reduce the associated environmental impacts

Details
There is an inventory of the main data resources used and/or managed by the group, including key information about each dataset (storage location, number of users, size, whether the data is unique or duplicate of another repository, number of backups, etc.). This inventory is updated regularly (frequency depends on field, at least yearly).
How?
List the main data resources by linking with colleagues and confirming with IT teams. “main”refers to significance in terms of size or difficulty to replace. Include any available information: storage location, number of users, size, whether the data is unique or duplicate of another repository, number of backups, etc. This includes both data stored on your own servers and external data you rely on (for these, you may not be able to obtain all the information above, but as much details as possible should be included).
